BIO
Vanessa Raymond is adjunct faculty at ACEP. She was formerly a program manager of ACEP's data team, with a specialty in supporting technical teams to design, build and expand software that manages or visualizes Arctic environmental data.
She came to ACEP from the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) òòò½´«Ã½, where she designed and built an information management system for ICC’s 50+ years of Inuit advocacy as their Data Advisor & Archivist. Prior to that, she was a project, product and data manager at Axiom Data Science, Resource Data Inc, the NSF Arctic Data Center, and the Geographic Information Network of òòò½´«Ã½.
In addition to her work in Arctic data and technology, Raymond is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Bulgaria, 2009-2012) and an entrepreneur. She holds an M.A. in Arctic governance from UAF with a specialty in Arctic security issues and a B.A. in jazz and cultural studies from Hampshire College.
