Week’s events: Jack Wilbur, vascular surgery, wildlife interactions, bagpipes

University of ��򽴫ý Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here’s what’s happening during the week of June 10-16:

• On Monday, June 10, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Jack Wilbur, fourth-generation Fairbanksan, mechanical engineer and Design ��򽴫ý chief financial officer. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• On Tuesday, June 11, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Mark Ombrellaro, vascular surgeon, discussing “Advances in Vascular Surgery: Forget ��򽴫ý the Pump. It’s All ��򽴫ý the Pipes.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, June 12, the Discover ��򽴫ý lecture series will feature Todd Brinkman, associate professor of wildlife ecology at the Institute of Arctic Biology, discussing “Changing Interactions Among ��򽴫ý’s Wildlife, People, and Environment.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, June 13, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature the UAF Music Academy at 6 p.m. and the Red Hackle Pipe Band at 7 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
