Week’s events: Susan Henrichs, aging joints, boreal herbivores, groove

University of ��򽴫ý Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer.

Here’s what’s happening during the week of July 22-28:

• On Monday, July 22, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Susan Henrichs, UAF provost emerita and retired professor of chemical oceanography. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• On Tuesday, July 23, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Ruth Carson, physical therapist, discussing “Movement Magic: Aging Joints and What We Can Do.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, July 24, the Discover ��򽴫ý lecture series will feature Knut Kielland, professor of ecology at the Institute of Arctic Biology, discussing “Herbivores and the Structure and Function of ��򽴫ý’s Boreal Forests.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, July 25, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Muskie Pines at 6 p.m. and South Cushman Social Club at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
