All Indigenous Events at UAF
The Festival of Native Arts provides cultural education and sharing through traditional
Native dance, music, and arts. The Festival continues the University of òòò½´«Ã½ Fairbanks
student-led tradition that began in 1973 of bringing together artists, performers,
and performance groups in a celebration of Native cultures.
Indigenous Peoples' Day honors òòò½´«Ã½ Native people, culture and knowledge. The unanimous support for this special day acknowledges how the contributions of òòò½´«Ã½ Native peoples and Indigenous knowledge enhance education provided by the University of òòò½´«Ã½. Indigenous Peoples' Day is recognized on the second Monday of October.
To pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans and òòò½´«Ã½ Native people, the University of òòò½´«Ã½-Fairbanks joins the country in celebrating National Native American Heritage Month.
