Spark new ideas and broader impact opportunities through Center ICE's Seed Funding

We鈥檙e looking for researchers whose interests and projects overlap with our invitation request for proposal themes and focuses. Center ICE is supporting up to five awards of $15,000 each for research projects focused on impact. All awardees also participate in the I-Corps Program and receive $4,500 in travel funding to support your stakeholder discovery.

Open applications: Introducing graduate student fellowships

For graduate students interested in innovation, Center ICE provides a fellowship for ten hours a week and partners with academic departments to pair the fellowship with a 10-hour TA-ship through the interested students' department. The fellowship will also pay half of university tuition and fees while students explore the world of innovation and gain hands-on experience working on innovative projects. Students also explore the potential impact of their research and their own career interests.

Inspired by Indigenous students, scholars, and leaders - the Tamamta team came together to seek deep transformation in how we teach about, study, and govern fisheries in 蝌蚪传媒. We uplift Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous knowledge systems, and Tribal governance to the center of fishery systems - systems Indigenous Peoples have been stewarding across 蝌蚪传媒 for thousands of years.

Advisors travel from rural campuses for training summit

An advising and student services training summit brought together advisors from all of UAF's five rural campuses in September with support from the College of Rural and Community Development and the Vice Chancellor's Office of Rural, Community and Native Education. The three-and-a-half-day training experience at the Troth Yeddha' Campus gathered approximately thirty College of Rural and Community Development student support staff and advisors to learn, network, and grow together.

We have had a whirlwind of activities and events in the past several weeks with even more fun on the horizon as we approach the holidays, finals, and winter break. I hope you will take the opportunity to join one of our upcoming UAF events, bring a friend (or two), and meet new ones! From a Blue and Gold Governor's Cup hockey game (Go Nooks!) to the Diwali Festival of Lights, a UAF Yoga Club class, the University Women's Association bazaar, or a community ski swap, this weekend is full of ways to connect and celebrate together. Along with the fun, we will also continue working together to ensure we contribute to a welcoming environment for students, colleagues, and community members.
